About Us

Kristin Spurrell has designed custom interiors independently since 2000. She has distinguished herself in the high-end residential markets of Tennessee,  North Carolina, Miami and New York. Exquisite interiors, carefully selected materials and custom furnishings, thoughtful color choices and an attention to detail are all part of her reputation in the industry. Whether the client's individual tastes run to modern, rustic, traditional or eclectic, her goal is to assist the owner in creating an exclusive and personal design.

Kristin's design studies began at Florida State University and continued at The American College for the Applied Arts. She graduated from East Tennessee State University in her native Johnson City while having the fortune of working under the tutelage of  Betty Tuell and Mary R. Powell, highly recognized Southern designers. 

After her training, she was off to the demanding environs of South Florida and work for many years in South Beach. Projects included the complete renovation and design of The Brooklyn Hotel in South Beach,  luxury condominiums at Continuum, Tequesta Two and Sunset Harbour.  She also teamed up with Wallace Tutt's team at Tutt Interiors to design Rock House, a resort in Harbour Island, Bahamas, as well as Coral Cay, a private residence and island near Harbour Island. Kristin also consulted for Howard Design Group, working with their design team on the  new offices of The South Beach Diet.

In 2005, Kristin relocated to Banner Elk, North Carolina to design interiors with Developer John Turchin, at his mountain home retreat, The Lodges at Eagles Nest.  Kristin worked with Mr. Turchin on his spec homes, as well as for individual clients who purchased homes within the development.

 Kristin is currently working independently.  She is based in Johnson City, Tennessee, with current projects in Greeneville, Bristol, Johnson City and Banner Elk.
